Although most of us can now access a gym after the national lockdown, if you still feel more comfortable keeping fit from home, there may be things you can use all around you in the house to elevate your home workouts.
If you lack home gym equipment and weights, utilising some home staples may allow you to get a better workout and burn more calories.
Check out the list below and give some of these a go when you workout from home.
Backpack
The everyday backpack. We all have one lying around somewhere, so why not put it to use and incorporate it into our home workout?
Take your backpack and fill it with something to weigh it down. Pay attention to the weight you put in. Make sure it is in line with what you are used to and don’t exceed your fitness levels.
You can use the added weight in the backpack for lunges and squats.
Stairs
What better way to keep on top of your cardio?
There are a number of ways you can incorporate your stairs into a home cardio workout and they can really burn calories.
As always be careful when on the stairs and keep your cardio simple.
Couch
Not always to be used to just sit on, the couch can be a great piece of home gym equipment.
You could use the couch to perform tricep dips or even push ups.
Tin of beans
You will never look at a tin of beans in the same way again.
This is a great way to do some simple home bicep curls.
If a tin of beans is too light, try something a tad heavier, like a water bottle.
Long Piece of Rope
You need to find something very stable in your house of even your garden. Maybe find a good solid tree in the back.
Tie the rope around and now you have your very own set of battle ropes!
A great cardio workout to do at home.
